Designated REALTOR®Also known as the Broker. The DR is responsible for dues payment for his/her firm. If there are two or more REALTOR® members who are principles of the same firm, then that firm shall designate in writing which REALTOR® member shall be classified as the DR. Dues for the DR shall be REALTOR® dues plus REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® dues multiplied by the number of salespersons affiliated with that DR. Every firm must have a DR, and there can be only one DR per firm.
REALTOR®A member of the Member Board, who, as a sole proprietor, partner or officer of a real estate firm or corporation, is actively engaged in real estate business.
REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®A member employed by or affiliated with a REALTOR® member as a sales employee or independent contractor unless such member is classified by the member board as a REALTOR® member, in which case he/she shall be deemed a REALTOR® member.
Affiliate MemberAn unlicensed person, firm or corporation who, while not actively engaged in the business of real estate, has interests requiring information concerning real estate, and is in sympathy with or interested in the objectives of the Association. Affiliate members may join and pay dues to the local board and the state association, but not the National Association of REALTORS®. They may also hold membership at the local board level without joining the state association.
Institute AffiliateAn individual who is engaged in a specialty area other than residential brokerage and who is a member of and holds a professional designation awarded by a qualified Institute, Society or Council affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS®.
REALTOR® EmeritusTo be eligible, one must have been a REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® for 50 continuous years. RE designations must be approved by the Board of Directors at the National Association of REALTORS®. If approved, persons holding a REALTOR® Emeritus designation do not pay national dues.REALTOR® Emeritus designees automatically receive OAR Life Member status and will be exempt from OAR dues also.
OAR Life Member
- May be conferred upon any member who has held membership in the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® as a REALTOR®, REALTORS-ASSOCIATE®, or both, for a cumulative period of 30 years in recognition of unusual meritorious service to the Association. This designation must be approved by the Life Membership Committee and the Board of Directors. If approved, Life Members will be exempt from the payment of OAR dues, but will still be responsible for NAR dues.
- Will be automatically conferred on a REALTOR® Emeritus of the National Association of REALTORS® and will be exempt from both OAR and NAR dues.
